Location: London / Hybrid

Salary: Starting salary of £30,836 per annum (With the opportunity to access potential yearly salary increments subject to appraisal)

The company has over 50 years’ experience of delivering pioneering services. This provision, part of a newly commissioned Pan-London Substance Use Pathway, will combine their considerable expertise in substance use and homelessness.

The team will work with people who sleep rough across the capital to identify and address barriers to treatment access, engaging constructively and collaboratively with other agencies and facilitating pathways into services.

The Role

This is a hybrid role involving work from home and outreach work meeting users of service face to face, conducting assessments of needs and risks, providing advocacy support, and facilitating referrals into statutory services for substance use treatment.

The role forms part of a small team delivering a high-quality, outcomes-focused service that improves the experience, quality of life, and life expectancy of people who sleep rough and use substances in London.

Successful candidates will have an opportunity to help shape the service and leave a legacy. There are regular team meetings where you will engage with your colleagues for support and direction, as well as a great deal of independent case management of service users on your caseload.

Lone working protocols are fully embedded in your day-to-day work to ensure staff and users of services' safety at all times in the community.

Multi-agency working is key to this role, ensuring that you support their service users to access the correct support and raise any safeguarding concerns to the correct team in the relevant borough.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience of working with people affected by substance use and/or homelessness - Essential Requirement.
  • Experience of delivering trauma-informed psychosocial brief interventions.
  • In-depth knowledge of harm reduction practices concerning substance use.
  • Awareness of safeguarding requirements and practices.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • Adaptable, enthusiastic, and empathetic.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people.
  • Able to work flexibly, including occasional early, late, or weekend work.

The successful candidate will be required to work effectively with teams across London, and proven ability to work collaboratively is a must, as is an ability to travel to sites across the capital (travel expenses will be paid).

Benefits

  • Starting salary of £30,836 per annum, with opportunity to access potential yearly salary increments subject to appraisal.
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
  • Benefits including season ticket loan, pension scheme, and life assurance.
  • Support through occupational sick pay, eye-care vouchers, and regular wellbeing talks and activities.
  • Continuous training and career development via PXL, their dedicated learning management system.
  • Access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance programme including telephone and online access.
  • A rewarding role with the opportunity to help support people on their journey to recovery and change their lives for the better.
  • They’ll ensure you get all the support you need to thrive and succeed in your role and find your place amongst their incredible and collaborative team.
  • Travel expenses (not including to and from the office) are paid for.
