Job summary

Satalia is seeking a React Front End Developer for a 3-month contract in the UK. You will work on a real-time, canvas-based collaboration tool, focusing on direct manipulation, streaming AI output, and multi-user editing.

Work with a small senior team to ship frontend features, define state ownership, and determine where WebSockets or SSE fit best. Emphasis on performance, accessibility and robust frontend testing.

Qualifications

• Deep React and browser-state expertise
• Built a complex interactive product (canvas/editor/collab app) with real-time event handling
• Shipped real-time event handling over WebSockets or SSE and understands ordering/reconnects
• Able to design API boundaries and own state ownership decisions
• Experience with monorepos, CI and design systems is useful but not central

Responsibilities

• Build the canvas with pan/zoom/drag and fast updates for hundreds of cards
• Maintain frontend state across transient interactions and persistent product state
• Enable real-time collaboration with presence and optimistic updates
• Handle streaming AI output and decide on WebSocket vs SSE usage
• Ensure performance, accessibility and robust testing across features
