mpro5, a frontline compliance and operations platform, is seeking an experienced React Native contractor to deliver on our near-term mobile roadmap. You’ll ship high‑quality B2B apps with Expo and React Native, and set the tone for how we build while partnering with our CTO and VP of Engineering to shape AI use across engineering.

About mpro5

mpro5 is a frontline compliance and operations platform, listed on the London Stock Exchange and headquartered in Tunbridge Wells. We help multi-site organisations run safer, smarter, more compliant operations - replacing the spreadsheets, paper forms and disconnected apps that make frontline work harder than it needs to be.

Our customers include Tesco, Compass Group, Booker Group, Northern Rail and NHS trusts, spanning retail, food safety, facilities management, healthcare and rail. What sets us apart is that mpro5 is software AND a service: every contract includes hands‑on implementation, rollout and adoption support, because a platform that doesn't get used doesn't deliver ROI.

We're a team of around 50 people who care about doing the work properly, building a product that hundreds of thousands of frontline workers rely on every day.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced, hands‑on React Native contractor to deliver on our near‑term mobile roadmap and raise the bar on our mobile engineering.

You'll bring the judgement that comes from years of shipping React Native apps to customers, set the tone for how we build, and partner with our CTO and VP of Engineering to shape how we get the most from AI across engineering.

What Success Looks Like

By the end of the contract, we'll have a production‑grade React Native version of our app that our customers trust, built alongside our team to best practice. AI‑assisted development will have helped us move at pace, with automated testing keeping the quality high. Our engineers will have mastered the framework alongside you, working this way as standard. Beyond mobile, you'll have shaped how our wider engineering team gets the most from AI.

What We're Looking For

• You've shipped high‑quality apps that customers trust. 5+ years in React Native and Expo on iOS and Android, with a track record of B2B apps you can show us, including taking an existing app into React Native. You're fluent in TypeScript, with performance and security front of mind.
• You're committed to AI, and can prove it. AI is how you work, not something you've tried. You keep on top of best practice as it evolves, you've delivered real projects with AI and can tell us what they taught you, and you've driven adoption across an engineering team.
• You automate by default. Automated testing is a core part of how you work. You lean on AI to write and maintain tests, and you advocate for automating anything done by hand.
• You champion product engineering. You care about the outcome for the people using what you build, not just the ticket, and you ask why as well as how. You work closely with product, designers and design systems, and you've helped the engineers around you think the same way.
• You're a proven enabler. You've upskilled engineers in a new framework through pairing, coaching and review, and seen them go on to deliver with confidence.
• You keep raising the bar. You stay on the pulse of how the best teams build, and you're always looking for the next way to improve quality and pace. You've joined established teams and made an impact fast, and you say what you think, challenge assumptions and bring people with you.
