Delta Capita is seeking a highly skilled Senior Rates Developer to join our Global Markets Technology practice. This role sits within a specialist team responsible for delivering pricing, eTrading and eRisk capabilities across Rates and FX products.

The team develops low‑latency, highly available pricing components that support:

  • Rates pricing across forwards, futures, swaps and bond products
  • FX forward and broker pricing
  • Algorithmic and electronic execution workflows
  • Pricing control tools and configuration frameworks used by traders and quants
  • On‑demand quoting and curve management for eCommerce channels
  • Integration of new quantitative models and external market data feeds

This is a hands‑on engineering role within a fast‑paced, high‑performance trading technology environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with eRisk quants and Rates/FX traders to gather requirements and refine technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of rates pricing, FX forward pricing and STP workflows across derivatives and cash products.
  • Develop pricing control features (price tiering, interpolation, curve adjustments, sanity checks, off‑market controls, derived crossing, etc.).
  • Enhance e‑pricing infrastructure to support on‑demand quoting and curve management across eCommerce channels.
  • Integrate quantitative models and new market data feeds into the pricing platform.
  • Produce detailed technical designs aligned to solution architecture.
  • Implement high‑quality Java server‑side components, applying industry‑standard development patterns.
  • Build simulation and back‑testing environments; investigate regression issues where required.
  • Conduct automated unit, integration, and performance testing prior to UAT.
  • Deploy components into development, test and pre‑production environments.
  • Work with external technical teams when required.
  • Ensure removal of open‑source or cyber vulnerabilities, contributing to strong risk and control governance.
  • Participate in intraday or overnight support rota when required.
Required Technical Skills
  • Strong server‑side Java development experience, including multithreading.
  • Experience building global, distributed systems in a real‑time trading environment (24x5.5).
  • Proven experience developing Rates or FX pricing systems for electronic trading or eCommerce.
  • Knowledge of kdb+/q.
  • Python experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with low‑latency tuning, concurrent programming and distributed design patterns.
  • Experience with testing frameworks, CI/CD and automated deployments.

Expectations regarding hybrid working:

As we are a Service Provider and Consulting firm servicing clients, our policy for physically working from the office (which may be the clients' offices or our own offices depending on the client) aligns to what our clients' policies and expectations are and these vary. Most of our clients now require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home, and accordingly this is also the minimum expectation that Delta Capita require.
