Job summary

Hitachi Rail GTS UK Limited seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major, complex projects. The role drives performance across teams, ensuring safe delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

This hybrid role requires regular travel to Sheffield and Manchester and occasional visits to other Hitachi Rail locations to support project delivery and stakeholder engagement. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams, coaching others while

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering complex projects.
• Strong leadership and people management in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Strong commercial, financial, and business acumen.
• Experience in project governance, planning, scheduling, risk management and change control.
• Ability to analyse project performance and investigate cost variances.
• Experience working across engineering, finance, commercial, supply chain and operations.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for project delivery performance against time, cost and quality objectives.
• Provide leadership to multidisciplinary project leadership teams.
• Ensure projects align with governance and control processes.
• Manage project risks, opportunities, change control, resource planning and stakeholder engagement.
• Support commercial performance across project portfolios including revenue, cash flow and EBIT targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal functions.
• Coach and develop project management talent and present concise performance information to senior leaders.
