Job summary

Morson Edge, on behalf of a leading organisation in the rail rolling stock industry, is seeking a Senior Production Manager to oversee production and maintenance at Machynlleth depot. You will lead production and maintenance activities, ensuring resources maximise fleet availability while upholding safety, quality and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading production or maintenance teams in a rail or heavy engineering environment.
• Proven people management and operational leadership experience.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of maintenance principles and asset reliability.
• Experience with maintenance management or ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Level 6 engineering qualification (or equivalent) preferred.
• PTS certification advantageous or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Lead production and maintenance delivery, maximise fleet availability while upholding safety, quality and performance.
• Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams and drive operational improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, planning and supply chain to deliver maintenance safely and on schedule.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities to sustain fleet availability and performance.
• Manage production schedules, resources and depot performance against targets.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reliability.
• Monitor KPIs, production performance and maintenance outputs for informed decisions.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company procedures.
