Job summary

TWG Consulting is recruiting for an experienced Senior Planning Manager to join a leading UK main contractor delivering a major rail infrastructure programme across the South West and Wales. The role leads the planning function across a significant project and provides strategic oversight across CP7 framework.

You will head a team of planners, work with senior stakeholders, develop pre-construction and construction programmes, monitor progress, identify risks, and drive planning standards while

Qualifications

• Significant project planning and controls experience.
• Experience working for a main contractor or major infrastructure delivery organisation.
• Previous experience leading or managing planners.
• Strong understanding of programme management, project controls, risk and cost.
• Ability to work with senior project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning function on a major rail infrastructure project.
• Provide strategic planning oversight across projects within a CP7 framework.
• Manage and develop a team of planners.
• Develop and maintain detailed pre-construction and construction programmes.
• Work with operational, commercial and project teams to reflect delivery strategy.
• Monitor progress against baselines and assess performance.
• Identify critical path issues, risks and opportunities.
• Develop mitigation and optimisation strategies.
• Produce programme updates, dashboards and narrative commentary for stakeholders.
• Support tender and pre-construction activities where required.
• Drive continuous improvement across planning processes and systems.
