Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking a Senior Network Design Engineer to lead the design and delivery of secure operational telecoms, data networks and cyber security solutions within complex UK rail environments. This permanent role offers flexible/hybrid working and clear career progression.

You'll design LAN/WAN, IP/MPLS networks, produce specifications and drawings, and collaborate with signalling, SCADA, and M&E teams while ensuring safety and security requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Proven network design experience in rail, transport or critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, IP/MPLS, routing, switching and security.
• Experience producing engineering design documentation.
• Understanding of systems engineering and design assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver secure LAN/WAN and IP/MPLS networks.
• Produce technical specifications, architecture drawings and design documentation.
• Support design assurance, compliance and design reviews.
• Coordinate interfaces with signalling, SCADA, M&E and operations.
• Support system integration, testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure designs meet safety, cyber security and project requirements.
