Job summary

Ford & Stanley Talent Services Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop and integrate robust mechanical systems for specialist rail infrastructure equipment. You will work with engineering teams across multiple UK locations, supporting concepts through to validation and product approval.

The role requires expertise in hydraulics and pneumatics, a degree in mechanical engineering or an apprenticeship, and familiarity with FEA.

Qualifications

• Mechanical design engineering experience within a safety-critical or highly regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
• Experience designing systems involving hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a recognised engineering apprenticeship/time-served background.
• Knowledge, understanding or exposure to FEA principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and integrate robust mechanical systems for railway infrastructure equipment.
• Support projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring standards and compliance.
• Validate and test designs, drive continuous improvement across products.
