Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior Estimator to price major UK rail infrastructure schemes, working with engineering, operational and commercial teams. You'll develop detailed estimates from first principles for £20m-£40m projects and contribute to robust tender submissions.

This hybrid, UK-wide role offers offices in London, Swindon, Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester, with flexible workload and progression toward Lead or Managing Estimator.

Qualifications

• This role requires estimating experience in rail with a main contractor or specialist subcontractor.
• Ability to develop estimates from first principles and deliver robust submissions.
• Experience creating cost plans, tender estimates and project pricing strategies.
• Good understanding of civil engineering resources and cost drivers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for major rail infrastructure projects.
• Develop estimates from first principles including labour, plant and materials.
• Produce tender summaries, cost plans and risk registers.
• Collaborate with project teams to inform methodology and pricing strategy.
• Support tender adjudications and present commercial considerations.
