Job summary

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Health Care Support Worker (part-time 0.6 WTE) for the Radiotherapy department on maternity cover. The role involves assisting Therapeutic Radiographers, taking bloods for radiotherapy patients, and delivering skin and wound care with compassionate patient support.

The successful candidate will work closely with Brachytherapy and Gamma Knife teams, maintain stock, and demonstrate excellent IT and communication

Qualifications

• Experience in acute hospital settings and caring for oncology patients.
• Qualified Health Care Support Worker with IT and administrative skills.
• Phlebotomy and wound care experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take blood samples from radiotherapy patients.
• Provide skin and wound care and general patient care during long stays in radiotherapy.
• Maintain stock levels and raise requisitions as needed.
• Communicate with Therapeutic Radiographers and brachytherapy teams to support patient care.
