You will assist trained staff, respond to routine queries, and help prepare patients for examinations while liaising with teams across CTM.
The role is fixed-term until 31 March 2027 with Welsh language skills being an advantage; flexible working and ongoing learning opportunities are offered.
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker with an interest in patient care/Radiology services to join our busy, friendly team.
The post will be based in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and the successful candidate will be expected to have a flexible approach in order to support other Radiology Departments across the organisation.
The post holder will have a good standard of general education including numeracy and literacy skills, with a commitment to undertake training to NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care/Clinical Healthcare Support.
The post holder will be required to act as a pivotal role in the patient pathway within Radiology, supporting clerical and clinical duties as required. They will have the opportunity to work in numerous areas within the department and will be expected to respond to routine queries, provide encouragement, reassurance and care to patients undergoing intimate examinations, and effectively liaise with other disciplines to discuss patient preparation, appointment times, and transport needs.
This post is fixed-term/secondment until 31st March 2027 due to the nature of the project and funding. Anyone wishing to apply for the post as a secondment must seek approval from their Line Manager before applying.
This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. Whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means being able to communicate in Welsh during routine clinical situations, such as welcoming patients, discussing straightforward aspects of their care and answering routine questions. If you're comfortable holding everyday conversations in Welsh, we encourage you to apply. Your Welsh language skills will help us provide person-centred care and enable patients to receive services in their language of choice. Have a look at our 'Croeso Candidate' booklet below for more information.
