University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Specialist Radiographer. The role covers CT, general radiography, trauma, fluoroscopy and neuro angiography, with autonomous practice across inpatient, outpatient and emergency referrals.

You will lead the radiographic team, supervise junior staff, and ensure safe practice under IR(ME)R, while contributing to teaching, CPD and service development. A full shift pattern includes nights and weekends.

Qualifikationen

• Essential criteria: BSc. Radiography and HCPC registration.
• Experience in CT imaging and fluoroscopy.
• IR(ME)R knowledge and radiation protection.
• Leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Willingness to work full shift including nights and weekends.

Aufgaben

• Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service across CT, general radiography, trauma, fluoroscopy and neuro angiography.
• Lead and coordinate the radiographic team and patient workload, including acting as senior during shifts and out-of-hours.
• Perform examinations across wards, intensive care, theatres and emergency settings; adapt techniques to patient needs.
• Practise as IR(ME)R Practitioner and ensure examinations are justified and safe; maintain radiation safety procedures.
• Provide supervision, mentoring and clinical teaching to junior staff, students and apprentices.
• Ensure patient care through assessment, infection control, contrast administration and escalation of findings.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses and doctors to deliver appropriate examinations and timely information.
• Participate in the shift/on-call rota including nights, weekends and holidays; support service continuity.
