Qualifications

Overview

The Radiology Service is an integral part of the patient pathway at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and pivotal to our clinical services. The Senior Radiographer will be an active member of the Radiology Department in delivering first class care to our patients, who are referred both internally and externally to the organisation.

Main duties

The role involves producing high quality X-Rays, Computed Tomography (CT) and Dacrocystogram scans. Experience of working autonomously is essential. Deputising for the Head of Radiology in their absence and supervising other staff within the service. To act as a Radiation Protection Supervisor for the service to ensure compliance with IR(ME)R 2017. To undertake clerical tasks which ensures a smooth patient pathway.

To act as a Radiation Protection Supervisor for the service to ensure compliance with IR(ME)R 2017. To undertake clerical tasks which ensures a smooth patient pathway.

  • BSc Hons or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography
CPD
  • Evident of commitment to CPD
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in X-Ray and Fluoroscopic techniques
  • Competent in IV Cannulation
  • 1 years' experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of working autonomously in a busy clinic environment.
Radiation Protection
  • Knowledge of radiation protection compliance
