Job description
Overview

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Senior Radiographer. The closing date is 02 October 2025.

The post holder will be a key member of the Candover Radiology team, working with and supporting the Clinical Lead Radiographer and the Radiology Manager to provide the MRI and CT service for the Candover Clinic.

Comply with and demonstrate a working knowledge of all regulations including IRMER and IRR(17).

The post holder will work with the Clinical Lead Radiographer to ensure a high quality and efficient MRI and CT service. Previous experience in cross sectional imaging is essential.

Main duties of the job
  • To participate in seven day working service/out of hours/extended working day service as required.
  • To supervise and assist specialist and junior radiographers and students.
  • To provide senior support to the Clinical Lead and to provide senior cover during the Lead's absence.
  • To use professional discretion and experience to ensure that clinical practice is carried out correctly, professionally and within the legal framework.
  • To assist the Clinical Lead in developing the MRI and CT services.
  • Work with the other MRI and CT Radiographers in delivering an exceptional MRI /CT service to all service users.
  • To manage a clinical workload and meet deadlines.
  • To undertake personal and professional development.
  • To prioritise workload and regularly reassess to ensure patient needs are met.
  • To undertake examinations to a high standard, across a range of clinical specialities, upon a range of patient types, both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi professional team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal standards and requirements.
  • To give IV injections of MRI / CT contrast agents, including the use of specialist injector pumps.
  • To undertake audit and research activities as required.
