Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a Method Development Scientist to join their Toxicology Research and Development Team in Warrington. This role involves developing, validating, and implementing new forensic testing methods, ensuring compliance with ISO17025 standards. Job description

CK Group are recruiting for a Method Development Scientist, to join a forensic testing organisation, based in Warrington, on a permanent basis.


In this role, you will work within the Toxicology Research and Development Team, to carry out method development and validation projects, under the guidance of the R&D Lead Analytical Toxicologist.


Your main duties will be:
  1. Development, validation, and implementation of new methods, in line with ISO17025 (2017) and the Forensic Science Regulator's Codes of Practice & Conduct.
  2. Drawing up of validation protocols and the production of validation reports in compliance with the Quality Management System.
  3. Technical evaluation and refinement of existing processes and development of more efficient and robust methods.
  4. Support investigations into Quality Control trends when required.
  5. Advising on and carrying out quality investigations.
  6. Delivering training to Toxicology analytical team when required.
Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have an:

  1. Excellent understanding of drug extraction techniques, notably LLE and SPE.
  2. A thorough understanding of immunoassay and chromatographic techniques (such as ELISA, HS-GC-FID, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS and HPLC-DAD).
  3. Troubleshooting LC-MS/MS instrumentation, both hardware and software.
  4. A thorough understanding of good laboratory practice including ISO17025 and anti-contamination protocols is essential.
  5. Technically minded and the ability to problem solve effectively.
  6. Familiarity with AB Sciex, Thermo and/or Waters equipment.

It is essential all candidates who apply have had permanent residency in the UK for at least 5 years minimum. This is essential for this role, and you will not be considered if you do not have this requirement.
