A leading company in construction and engineering is seeking a Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Birmingham. The role involves managing project bills of quantities and ensuring compliance with contracts while negotiating with subcontractors for cost-effective solutions. Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor.
• Familiarity with JCT/NEC forms of contract required.
• Knowledge of current Construction Law essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project bills of quantities, ensuring compliance with project scope and design specifications.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Manage change orders, variations, and claims in line with project and contractual requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and the review of contracts and subcontracts.

Key Experience for this Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor Role:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a Main Contractor.
• Familiarity with JCT/NEC/ forms of contract.
• Knowledge of current Construction Law.
• Experience in commercial management.
• Experience in procurement of subcontractors, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations.
• Good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
