We prioritize our people and are looking to recruit a skilled Water Senior Quantity Surveyor for our Energy and Sustainable Cities Business Line.

About the Role

Reporting to the Water Cost and Commercial Lead for the UK, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will primarily work with water companies or the Environment Agency in the Midlands, with opportunities to work in the North West of England. There is potential for progression into sectors like water, environment, rail, or nuclear.

The ideal candidate will have experience in pre- and post-contract management within NEC 3 or NEC 4 ECC frameworks, procurement, and major project delivery, including ECI and ESI processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage NEC3/4 contracts (Options A, C, E) on a client side
  • Control budgets and perform payment valuations
  • Forecast costs and determine defined costs
  • Maintain productive stakeholder relationships
  • Ensure proper commercial record-keeping and manage contractual issues
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, tender evaluation, and risk management pre-contract
  • Administer construction contracts, control costs, evaluate change orders, and handle claims post-contract
  • Manage final accounts and conduct post-project evaluations
Requirements
  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying
  • Chartered membership (RICS) or on an APC pathway
  • Postgraduate experience in Rail, Nuclear, Water, or Environment sectors
  • Line management experience of QS teams
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management
  • Valid CSCS card; Water Hygiene Card preferred
  • Experience working with main contractors or joint ventures, client-side
  • Site presence of at least 3 days per week
  • Proficiency with NEC3/4 contracts (A-C-E)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Note: Role subject to client interview and acceptance
