Job summary

JAM in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on a major transformation project. You will oversee cost planning, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, valuations and financial control across multiple workstreams.

Key requirements include a degree in Quantity Surveying or related subject, membership (RICS/CIOB or equivalent), NEC contract experience and a track record on large-scale construction projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related subject.
  • RICS, CIOB or equivalent professional membership.
  • Experience with NEC contracts and UK construction practices.
  • Proven experience on large-scale construction or transformation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets and cost plans.
  • Monitor project costs, risks and financial exposure.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts.
  • Manage procurement and tendering activities.
  • Prepare tender documents, BoQs and pricing schedules.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier tenders.
  • Administer contracts and manage variations, changes and claims.
  • Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
  • Identify commercial risks and support value engineering.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
  • Provide commercial advice to project teams.
