Job summary

VERTEC SERVICES Ltd is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for our London projects in structured cabling and M&E. You will manage commercial performance from tender through final account, collaborating with Head of Commercial, Project Managers and Site Managers to drive profitable delivery.

The role requires reviewing drawings, preparing budgets, valuations and final accounts, and negotiating with clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager in structured cabling or M&E.
• Experience with valuations, payments, and final accounts.
• Ability to read drawings and cost documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and numerical skills.
• Experience with NEC or JCT contracts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of projects from tender through to final account.
• Prepare budgets, cost plans and Bills of Quantities.
• Monitor costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Prepare and manage applications for payment, valuations and progress claims.
• Manage variations, change orders and additional works.
• Review subcontractor and supplier valuations.
• Prepare and negotiate final accounts.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers/subcontractors.
• Support procurement and negotiate commercial terms.
• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Assess commercial impact of design changes and site delays.
• Maintain accurate commercial/cost/variation records.
• Attend meetings with clients, subcontractors and consultants.
