Job summary

Eurosafe Contracting Limited is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial elements of a major project, working closely with the Project Director. The role is based primarily on a construction site with hybrid working options to discuss, and will involve regular travel to the London site in NW10.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of NEC3 contracts (Option A), including Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Prepare, update and maintain project Activity Schedules.
• Assist in development and updating of project programmes.
• Ensure contractual compliance and KPI adherence throughout the project.
• Develop cost plans and budgets; monitor costs to meet financial targets.
• Liaise with project delivery team to ensure successful outcomes.
• Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts with subcontractors.
• Identify and manage project risks and provide accurate CVRs and cash flow analyses.
• Act as main contact for clients, consultants, and contractors; resolve contractual issues.
• Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors; provide regular reports to senior management.
• Attend site meetings representing Eurosafe.

Job Description

Due to Eurosafe securing a large contract in North-West London, we are looking to employ a Senior Quantity Surveyor to see the project through, working closely with the Project Director to managing all commercial aspects of the works. This role will be based primarily on an active construction site, with hybrid working options available for discussion.

We are looking for either an established Senior QS or an Intermediate QS ready to step up into a senior role to progress their career and take on a new challenge.

Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of the NEC3 contracts (Option A), including Early Warnings, Compensation Events, risk management, and change control.

Prepare, update and maintain project Activity Schedules in line with the project obligations

Assist in the development and updating of project programmes

Contribute to the adherence of project KPI requirements and ensure contractual compliance for the lifespan of the project

Develop detailed cost plans and budgets. Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure financial targets are met.

Liaise with all members of the project delivery team to ensure a successful project outcome

Prepare and agree on interim valuations and final accounts, including subcontractor payments, ensuring compliance with NEC3 protocols.

Identify and manage risks, working closely with project teams to mitigate potential issues.

Provide accurate financial reporting, including cost-value reconciliations (CVRs), project forecasts, and cash flow analysis

Act as a point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring clear communication and resolution of contractual and commercial issues.

Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors, contributing to the professional development of the team.

Provide periodic reports as required to the Project Director, Commercial Manager and Managing Director.

Attend site meetings as required to represent Eurosafe

Experience & Qualifications

An ideal candidate meets at least the following requirements:

Demonstrable experience & understanding of NEC3 Option A contracts

Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the Construction industry (for either a main contractor or subcontractor)

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels

Excellent organizational skills and a sharp attention to detail

Good work ethic and a determination to succeed

Nice to Have

Experience in any of the following may set you apart:

Qualified with a relevant degree

MRICS or membership of relevant professional institute

Commercial experience on construction / building projects exceeding £5 million in value

Knowledge of the fall protection industry
