Job summary

Interaction Recruitment seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Northampton-based role. The candidate will manage financial performance across projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget.

Roofing and cladding experience is essential, with strong negotiation and communication skills required. The successful QS will oversee budgets, cost plans, forecasts, and subcontractor dealings while coordinating with site teams and senior commercial staff.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Must have roofing and cladding experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the UK construction sector.
• Good working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, cost plans and forecasts.
• Monitor costs and report on financial performance.
• Support subcontractor procurement, tendering and negotiations.
• Prepare and assess interim valuations and payments.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, variations and final accounts.
• Assist with contract administration (JCT/NEC).
• Liaise with site teams, project managers and senior commercial staff.
