Seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to join a leading Construction Consultancy.

Hays Property and Surveying are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to join a leading construction consultancy based in Bristol.
The company is a multidisciplinary construction consultancy with offices based across the UK. They provide a range of services including Building Surveying, Cost Consultancy, and Project Management, working on behalf of clients within the Public and Private Sectors.
Their Bristol Cost Consultancy department is dedicated to delivering high-quality quantity surveying and construction cost management services across a variety of sectors, including Local Government, Education, Commercial and National Government Frameworks. The team are now seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to join the business. The role will be based in their Bristol City Centre offices, with hybrid working available 2-3 times a week.

Your new role
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing a range of construction cost management / quantity surveying consultancy services to a portfolio of clients. This will include managing pre- and post-contract stages on multiple projects, ranging in size and value from £1.5M to £20M.

1. Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
2. Produce cost plans throughout all stages of the design process.
3. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
4. Review tenders and oversee procurement processes and contract negotiations.
5. Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
6. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders.
7. Provide expert advice on cost management and value engineering.
8. Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors.

What you'll need to succeed

1. Hold a degree in a relevant construction discipline, such as Quantity Surveying.
2. MRICS qualified is preferred.
3. Significant experience in undertaking a range of pre- and post-contract construction cost management / quantity surveying services.
4. A proven track record of working within a construction consultancy / quantity surveying practice.
5. Proficient at preparing cost plans, managing budgets and administering building contracts.
6. Proficient knowledge of building contracts such as JCT / NEC.
