Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project based at our new site in Redcar-in-Cleveland on Teesside.

What you'll be doing

Commercial Management & Administration

1. Review and manage data for cost and financial management.
2. Review complex contract programmes.
3. Monitor subcontract activities, measure performance, prepare interim monthly payments and prepare monthly reports.
4. Provide commercial progress updates and financial reconciliations.

Customer & Change Management

1. Analyse rates and prices, agree on variations and compensation events.
2. Manage the commercial aspects with customers and stakeholders within your area of responsibility.

Procurement

1. Prepare procurement programmes and assist in developing procurement strategies.
2. Analyse tender documents, and critically appraise, estimate, and negotiate with third parties.

Who we're looking for

Essential Criteria:-

1. Degree qualified.
2. Experience in leading and mentoring a team of commercial staff.
3. In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and cost control in the construction industry.
4. Must live within a 50 miles radius of the NZT site.

Desirable Criteria:-

1. Chartered status (MRICS or similar) or actively working towards.
2. Previous involvement in a high-profile project.
