Job summary

NG Bailey in Boldon, North East UK, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee commercial aspects and profitability on medium to large projects. The role includes mentoring QS and Assistant QS, reviewing contract terms, and managing changes to contractual obligations.

You'll oversee cash flow forecasting, cost control, subcontractor management, and reporting, while building strong stakeholder relationships across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience managing the commercial aspects of medium to large MEP/construction projects.
• GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
• A relevant BSc/degree or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Champion our safety-first culture in all project activities.
• Mentor and guide Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
• Review and interpret contract terms, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with contract aspects and liaise with project teams.
• Manage the agreement process for any changes to contractual obligations.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and manage payment submissions.
• Monitor and forecast costs and revenue throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the procurement and management of subcontractors.
• Provide accurate reporting on costs, projections, and margins.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the project team to negotiate final account settlements.
• Ensure all necessary records and reports are maintained.
• Support any dispute resolution processes.
