Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to take on a new challenge in the North of Scotland? Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused professional to join our Regional Scotland team, working on a diverse and meaningful portfolio of infrastructure projects.

Whether you're based on-site in Aberdeen or from our Inverness office, you'll play a key role in ensuring commercial success across complex, high impact works building temporary accommodation for colleagues in the North East of Scotland

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial and contractual control on project delivery, ensuring profitability and compliance
  • Develop and implement commercial strategy with Project Management
  • Monitor costs, forecasts, and valuations, ensuring alignment with budget
  • Identify, manage and secure agreement on contract variations
  • Oversee sub-contract management and procurement
  • Provide accurate monthly cost and value reporting
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive delivery
  • Contribute to continuous commercial improvement and excellence

Who we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within infrastructure or civil engineering
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, NEC/JCT contracts and commercial processes
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage costs, claims, and sub-contractors independently
  • Proficient in MS Office and commercial systems
  • Enthusiastic, organised, and able to thrive under pressure
  • CSCS card required
  • (Desirable: RICS/CIOB or similar professional membership)
