Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Duration: 12 months
Pay: £(Apply online only) per day
Location: Cardiff
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and timely commercial reports and advice to the management team.
- Contribute to achieving the appropriate commercial result through the provision of accurate financial reporting.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, financially and contractually.
- Work closely with the site team and provide support on contract requirements.
- Ensure applications for payment and invoices are completed and submitted on time to meet payment terms, work in progress (WIP), and cash targets.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements and monitor internal expenditure against budget.
- Maximize efficiency of reporting techniques and systems.
- Build and maintain effective relationships through high-quality customer service and on-site delivery.
- Operate systems to provide the necessary information for contract management.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders, aiming for Perfect Delivery on all projects.
- Support and coach team members on commercial and contractual awareness.
- Liaise with customers, representatives, and third parties on commercial issues, including variations, claims, and additional payments.
- Manage the financial closure of projects, ensuring costs and values are accurately allocated according to the financial timetable.
Requirements:
- Understanding of construction techniques.
- Experience with education, leisure, MOJ, healthcare, prison, or leisure schemes.
- HNC / Degree in commercial management or a related field, and/or RICS Membership.
- Experience managing own projects on 2-stage schemes.
- Strong knowledge of company management systems, including commercial and financial systems (e.g., Commercial Manager, COINS, Sphere).
- Proven experience managing a team of assistant/quantity surveyors on large contracts.
- Enjoy working in an inclusive, hardworking team environment.
- Experience in collating and producing site records for interim and final accounts and cost reports.
- Experience with schemes valued between £10 million and £70 million, particularly in education, healthcare, prison, and leisure sectors.
