Job description

Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Duration: 12 months

Pay: £(Apply online only) per day

Location: Cardiff

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide accurate and timely commercial reports and advice to the management team.
  2. Contribute to achieving the appropriate commercial result through the provision of accurate financial reporting.
  3. Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, financially and contractually.
  4. Work closely with the site team and provide support on contract requirements.
  5. Ensure applications for payment and invoices are completed and submitted on time to meet payment terms, work in progress (WIP), and cash targets.
  6. Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements and monitor internal expenditure against budget.
  7. Maximize efficiency of reporting techniques and systems.
  8. Build and maintain effective relationships through high-quality customer service and on-site delivery.
  9. Operate systems to provide the necessary information for contract management.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders, aiming for Perfect Delivery on all projects.
  11. Support and coach team members on commercial and contractual awareness.
  12. Liaise with customers, representatives, and third parties on commercial issues, including variations, claims, and additional payments.
  13. Manage the financial closure of projects, ensuring costs and values are accurately allocated according to the financial timetable.
Requirements:
  1. Understanding of construction techniques.
  2. Experience with education, leisure, MOJ, healthcare, prison, or leisure schemes.
  3. HNC / Degree in commercial management or a related field, and/or RICS Membership.
  4. Experience managing own projects on 2-stage schemes.
  5. Strong knowledge of company management systems, including commercial and financial systems (e.g., Commercial Manager, COINS, Sphere).
  6. Proven experience managing a team of assistant/quantity surveyors on large contracts.
  7. Enjoy working in an inclusive, hardworking team environment.
  8. Experience in collating and producing site records for interim and final accounts and cost reports.
  9. Experience with schemes valued between £10 million and £70 million, particularly in education, healthcare, prison, and leisure sectors.
