Job summary

MMP Consultancy is recruiting a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a high-profile housing investment programme in Essex. Based in Harlow, the role combines strategic commercial leadership with hands-on project delivery across multiple capital works, refurbishment, and maintenance contracts.

You will lead a project team, manage contract administration, and present financial updates to senior stakeholders. Chartered status with RICS and a strong track record in Employers Agent and JCT contracts

Qualifications

• Chartered status with RICS (or equivalent).
• A Quantity Surveying degree or related discipline.
• Extensive experience as Employers Agent, Contract Administrator, and Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong knowledge of JCT forms of contract.
• Experience leading commercial teams and managing staff.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Advanced financial reporting and budget management.
• Ability to interpret and present large volumes of financial data.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial activities across a portfolio of housing and construction projects.
• Manage project commercial teams and engage senior stakeholders.
• Provide expert advice on contractual matters and dispute avoidance.
• Monitor project costs, risks, opportunities, and programme performance.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting and forecasting.
• Ensure complete financial management and budget control.
• Present updates to senior stakeholders and chair project meetings.
