Job summary

One Way Resourcing is assisting a Wiltshire-based specialist building contractor to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor for high-end residential, heritage and bespoke new-build projects across the South of England.

The role requires commercial ownership from pre-construction handover to final account, with oversight of budgets, procurement, valuations and risk management. Strong Excel and IT skills, plus a full UK driving licence, are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong understanding of JCT contracts and commercial processes.
• Experience managing procurement through to final account.
• Excellent cost management, forecasting and reporting capabilities.
• Confident client-facing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for high-end residential, heritage, restoration and bespoke new-build projects.
• Manage projects from pre-construction handover through to final account.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, costs and reporting.
• Identify, monitor and manage commercial risk.
• Procurement, tendering and negotiation of subcontractors.
• Prepare and manage valuations, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Manage client applications, variations and commercial submissions.
• Issue contractual notices where required.
• Ensure compliance with JCT contracts and internal procedures.
• Collaborate with contracts and site managers to monitor performance.
• Provide commercial guidance to project teams.
• Develop value engineering and procurement strategies.
