Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their Cheshire-based team. You will play a pivotal role in both the pre-construction and delivery phases of high-value CAT B fit out projects, working closely with clients, subcontractors, and the internal project team to ensure commercial success from tender through to final account.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for CAT B fit out projects

• Managing project budgets and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle

• Measuring works and preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts

• Procuring and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers

• Attending site visits and client meetings to understand project scope and ensure accurate estimating

• Collaborating with project managers to monitor and report on project performance

• Managing risk, identifying opportunities for value engineering, and advising on cost-saving strategies

• Maintaining accurate records and adhering to contractual and commercial obligations

• Supporting junior team members and contributing to process improvement

What you will need to succeed:

• Proven experience in a Senior QS or Estimator role within the commercial fit out or construction sector

• Strong background working on CAT B fit out projects

• Sound knowledge of estimating software and cost planning tools

• Familiarity with standard forms of contract (JCT)

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and client-facing skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management

• Full UK driving licence
