Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Energy on Natural Resource projects, including pipelines Western and Lower Thames. The role focuses on commercial governance, valuations, cost reporting, subcontract management and change control.

You will work within a busy site team, ensuring procedures are followed and commercial controls are robust. Ideal candidates will have HND or degree, proven senior QS experience on major projects, and live with NEC contracts; RICS/ICES

Qualifications

• HND/Degree qualification.
• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or a time-served Quantity Surveyor looking to step up.
• Solid knowledge across NEC Contracts.
• Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership.
• Experience on Civil Engineering and/or Major Construction Projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the site team adheres to group procedures and governance.
• Management of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
• Preparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract.
• Oversee Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
• Management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
• Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
• Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements.
• Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required.
