About The Role
This is a permanent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Civil Engineering division, based in Drigg, Cumbria. Benefits include car allowance, pension, private medical cover, life assurance, etc.
The role involves leading large civil engineering schemes, mainly with a main contracting background, and extensive experience in heavy civils across sectors like highways, rail, and marine. Key responsibilities include cost control, subcontractor management, client interface, delay analysis, and contract administration, primarily using NEC contracts.
The candidate will establish project budgets, review contracts, procure subcontract packages, report on costs, manage contractual correspondence, liaise with clients, manage staff resources, perform delay analysis, handle subcontract issues, and forecast cash flows. The role also involves attending meetings, using company software for reporting, and ensuring contractual compliance.
Person specifications include a third-level qualification, experience at a senior level in a commercial/QS role, knowledge of heavy civils projects, contract understanding, negotiation, problem-solving, and clearance requirements (BPSS and SC). Desirable qualifications include professional memberships like MRICS/MCICES.
