Job summary

TED Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join in Birmingham on rail projects. You will oversee commercial activities, manage a small QS team, and collaborate with supply chain and contractors on cost variation assessments.

NEC3/NEC4 knowledge is essential. The role requires a BSc in Quantity Surveying with over eight years of QS experience, pre- and post-contract exposure, and ideally RICS qualification or strong rail commercial management background.

Job description

THE ROLE

My client seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join them in Birmingham to work in a client office on rail projects.

You must have good experience of quantity surveying and commercial management duties and have Rail experience using NEC contracts - NEC3 and NEC4.

You will work as part of a team on the delivery of commercial activities and you should be able to manage a small team of Quantity Surveyors plus you will work alongside the supply chain and contractors to provide cost variation assessment and other commercial activites.

You will provide an independent view to their Head of the Commercial team.

THE COMPANY

My client is a long established busy firm of PQS with several offices.

My client works on projects for infrastructure and also for buildings.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager who has good experience of working on RAIL related projects.

You should have a BSc or similar in Quantity Surveying.

You may be RICS qualified or have good Rail commercial management experience.

You will have in excess of eight years quantity surveying experience.

You should have both pre contract and post contract quantity surveying experience.

You must have knowledge in the use of NEC3 contracts and ideally some NEC4.

Experience of doing Cost Variation Assessments and Commercial Audit would be useful.

At more senior level you should be able to supervise more junior level QSs.

Salaries will be between £80000 and £85000 plus good benefits and be negotiable according to your level of experience.
