Job summary

TWG Consulting in the Midlands is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership on civils, groundworks, RC and concrete packages for a Derby-based project, ensuring commercial integrity from procurement to final account.

You will manage budgets, valuations, variations and CVRs, forecast costs, monitor subcontractor performance, and work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to deliver on time and within budget, while maintaining compliance and reporting, outside IR35.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong civil engineering and groundworks background.
• Significant RC/concrete structures experience.
• Experience commercially managing major construction packages.
• Experience with valuations, variations, CVRs, forecasting and final accounts.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civils & RC Structures

Location: Derby, DE21 7HX

Rate: £450-£500 per day

Contract: Outside IR35

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a project based in Derby.

The successful candidate will have a strong commercial background within civil engineering, groundworks, reinforced concrete (RC) and concrete structures. This role requires someone capable of taking commercial ownership of their packages and working closely with the project and site teams to ensure works are delivered within budget and contractual requirements.

Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or experienced Project Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong background within civil engineering and groundworks.
• Significant experience working with reinforced concrete (RC) and concrete structures.
• Experience commercially managing major construction packages.
• Strong understanding of subcontractor management and procurement.
• Experience with valuations, variations, CVRs, forecasting and final accounts.
• Strong contractual and commercial awareness.
• Ability to operate independently and take ownership of the commercial function.
• Previous contractor or specialist subcontractor experience is highly desirable.

Rate: £450-£500 per day
