Graham Group in Glasgow is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major civil-engineering project. You will lead commercial activities, manage budgets, and oversee main contracts and subcontracts.

The role requires NEC experience (Option C preferred), delay analysis, and proven senior QS capability on highways, rail or marine projects. MRICS/MCICES desirable.

You will collaborate with project teams, produce forecasts, and ensure cost control and timely payments.

Qualifications

What the role covers

GRAHAM is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major civil-engineering project in Glasgow. This permanent position reports to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and covers the project's commercial function, including orders, cost control and recovery of value. The appointee will prepare budgets, allocate cost codes and review the terms of both main contracts and subcontracts.

Duties include procuring subcontract packages, reporting expenditure and forecasting the remaining costs. The surveyor will administer contracts, prepare correspondence about delay and loss and expense, and manage variations and compensation events. Monthly payment applications must include forecasts of the remaining defined cost and comply with relevant administrative requirements.

Company software is used for reports, subcontract payments and contractual documents. Candidates need a degree or comparable qualification and previous experience at senior commercial or quantity-surveying level. The employer seeks experience across heavy civil-engineering projects, including highways, rail or marine work.

NEC experience is required, with Option C preferred. Experience preparing delay analysis and associated claims is advantageous, while MRICS or MCICES membership is desirable.
