Job Description:

Overall Objective

To provide effective financial management across a range of projects, ensuring accurate measurement, valuation, and cash flow control. The role is focused on post-contract activities and requires proactive oversight of all commercial aspects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the timely and accurate measurement and valuation of works, while overseeing compliance by other team members

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to project activities

  • Attend valuation meetings with client representatives as required, or ensure appropriate team members are in attendance

  • Produce financial forecasts and reports for assigned projects

  • Oversee the procurement and management of subcontractors, including the approval of subcontract orders and payments

  • Assess and certify subcontractor valuations and payments

  • Support and mentor the quantity surveying team to help achieve company objectives

  • Process weekly payments for direct labour and plant subcontractors

  • Prepare bills of quantities and take-offs for the estimating department during tender submissions

Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven experience in a commercial role within the construction or civil engineering sector

  • Ideally holds an HND, degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline

  • Strong understanding of construction processes and procedures

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems

  • Experience working under various contract frameworks and interpreting contract documentation

  • Comprehensive commercial and contracting knowledge
