Overall Objective
To provide effective financial management across a range of projects, ensuring accurate measurement, valuation, and cash flow control. The role is focused on post-contract activities and requires proactive oversight of all commercial aspects.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure the timely and accurate measurement and valuation of works, while overseeing compliance by other team members
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to project activities
Attend valuation meetings with client representatives as required, or ensure appropriate team members are in attendance
Produce financial forecasts and reports for assigned projects
Oversee the procurement and management of subcontractors, including the approval of subcontract orders and payments
Assess and certify subcontractor valuations and payments
Support and mentor the quantity surveying team to help achieve company objectives
Process weekly payments for direct labour and plant subcontractors
Prepare bills of quantities and take-offs for the estimating department during tender submissions

Proven experience in a commercial role within the construction or civil engineering sector
Ideally holds an HND, degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
Strong understanding of construction processes and procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems
Experience working under various contract frameworks and interpreting contract documentation
Comprehensive commercial and contracting knowledge
Supports and encourages colleagues to achieve shared goals
Maintains focus and composure under pressure and when handling competing priorities

Communicates effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing

Additional Requirements:
A valid UK driving licence is essential
