My client, who is working as part of a Joint Venture on HS2, is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work in Chipping Warden (Banbury).

We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in our Chipping Warden location. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in our Greatworth to Southam Area project. You will be responsible for carrying out both regular and ad-hoc tasks in accordance with deadlines, independently or leading a small team of commercial staff. Your main responsibilities will include preparing and agreeing variation accounts, monitoring costs, reviewing contract progress, and providing contractual advice to management. Additionally, you will be involved in resolving disputes and identifying potential commercial risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out tasks independently or lead a small team of commercial staff
  • Prepare and agree variation accounts for main contracts and sub-contracts
  • Monitor costs and contract progress against targets and work plans
  • Prepare and agree valuations, final accounts, and sub-contract final accounts
  • Prepare and issue certifications and payments for sub-contractors
  • Provide contractual advice to management
  • Negotiate and resolve disputes
  • Identify potential commercial risks and evaluate options for control and management

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified with a Quantity Surveying degree or similar
  • Enrolled in or seeking membership of a relevant professional institution (CICES, RICS or similar)
  • Demonstrated successful experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Ability to mentor junior team members
