Job summary

M Group are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Aviation Heathrow team. This role focuses on managing commercial and financial aspects across Heathrow Airport projects, mentoring junior surveyors and APC candidates, and ensuring governance compliance.

You will collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver safely, on time, and within budget. Ideal candidates will have MRICS or CICES (preferred), strong experience in civil engineering or safety-critical

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• MRICS or CICES accreditation (preferred).
• Experience in civil engineering, aviation, rail, highways, or safety-critical sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen and contract management experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management and mentoring ability.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and financial aspects of multiple projects.
• Oversee cost management, procurement activities, and contract administration.
• Prepare financial reports, cost reconciliations, forecasts, and progress reports.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks, including cost overruns and programme delays.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Support, mentor, and develop junior surveyors and APC candidates.
• Promote commercial awareness and ensure compliance with governance and procedures.
• Contribute to work-winning activities and collaborate with pre-contract teams.
• Support resource planning and project reviews.
• Work alongside Contract Services and Insurance teams to resolve disputes and pursue recoveries where required.
• Participate in executive and project review meetings.
• Promote behavioural programmes and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and audit requirements.
