Job Description:

Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Kent region (site-based)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm
Contract: Permanent (must start before October)

Red Sky Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering high-value projects across the UK. Known for their technical expertise and collaborative approach, they operate across a range of sectors including groundworks, structural concrete, enabling works, highways and infrastructure.

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team and take a lead on a major infrastructure project in the Kent region. You will manage a small team and play a key role in the commercial delivery of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead cost management and forecasting throughout project lifecycle

Prepare, monitor and report on project budgets and cost plans

Manage subcontract procurement, payments and commercial performance

Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and contractual risks

Oversee change management, including assessment of variations and VO tracking

Produce accurate monthly reporting and final accounts

Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, clients and internal teams

Mentor and manage Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Surveyors

Experience & Requirements:

3+ years in a similar role, ideally in civil engineering or infrastructure

Experience across one or more of the following sectors:
• Groundworks & Earthworks
• RC Frames & Concrete Structures
• Highways / Roads
• Utilities & Infrastructure
• Demolition / Enabling Works
• Rail / Transport Infrastructure

Strong understanding of NEC, JCT or FIDIC contracts

Degree in Quantity Surveying or construction-related field (RICS preferred)

Strong commercial acumen, cost control, and contract negotiation skills

Ability to lead commercially on site and support a small team

Package:

Salary up to £95,000 (DOE)

This is a critical hire with an immediate requirement—our client is keen to secure someone before October, though earlier availability is highly desirable. Preference is for a permanent appointment.
