Job summary

Avove is expanding its Commercial Team and is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Warrington office. This hybrid role offers flexibility to work from home and visit project sites across the Northwest on United Utilities projects.

You will play a key commercial role on our utilities accounts, supporting water and wastewater infrastructure projects that serve local communities. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to high-quality, sustainable infrastructure with a respected

Qualifications

• Strong experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts (target cost, fixed price, cost reimbursable).
• Background in infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, ideally in water/utilities.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience managing contract frameworks.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Full UK driving licence (regional site visits required).

Responsibilities

• Ensuring contract compliance with Avove's systems, processes, and procedures.
• Managing financial monitoring and reporting across assigned contracts.
• Supporting the preparation, negotiation, and administration of construction contracts.
• Managing contract variations, commercial records, claims, EOTs, and valuations.
• Overseeing subcontractor procurement, appointments, and ongoing management.
• Preparing and submitting timely applications and invoices to clients.
• Supporting business development activities including PQQs and tender submissions.
• Mentoring and developing junior commercial team members.
• Leading on staff performance, development, and resource planning within your team.
