We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, strategic, and charismatic person to join a leading civil engineering contractor as a Quantity Surveyor working on major projects in the buoyant energy sector.

The Role:

With strong analytical skills, you should demonstrate a history of making well-informed decisions grounded in both experience and data intelligence. Success in this role relies on meticulous attention to detail and adept prioritisation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising subcontractors and managing accounts
  • Providing support to the Commercial Manager and overseeing the commercial team
  • Addressing client disputes and conducting internal audits
  • Maintaining the commercial risk register
  • Verifying the accuracy of measurements during weekly valuations
  • Conducting cost analysis and implementing cost reduction initiatives
  • Reviewing contracts and analysing rates
  • Generating comprehensive Cost Value Reports (CVRs) for all projects

About You:

  • Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor, demonstrating high commercial awareness and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record in compiling complex subcontract orders, including effective risk allocation and support for the operational team.
  • Excellent commercial and communication skills, providing competent leadership to internal stakeholders, cultivating client relationships, and showing a keen interest in developing direct reports.
  • Inspiring, influential, and charismatic communication skills, with experience in effectively delivering key messages. Problem-solving skills are essential, as are exceptional Excel skills.
  • Holding a degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or having significant experience in a similar position.
  • Flexible/hybrid working arrangements are available, and we offer a company car scheme or car allowance.
