Senior Quantity Surveyor

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for driving efficiencies, managing costs, and regional performance for our clients. This role involves taking control of all financial aspects of projects, overseeing commercial and contractual matters, and delivering desired margin returns through high standards of commercial acumen. You will also identify, record, and track risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage contract performance, including weekly P&L reporting.
  • Review contract documents and mitigate issues.
  • Control progress and cash flow forecasts.
  • Manage commercial forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVRs), and Project Finance Reports.
  • Handle Subcontractor Management: forecasting, issuing orders, and negotiating terms.
  • Prepare subcontract documents, solicit quotations, and assess bids.
  • Oversee subcontract orders, agreements, certifications, invoicing, payments, and final accounts.
  • Manage change control processes, risks, and value management.
  • Track project changes, variations, and notices.
  • Assess and value variations and compensation events.
  • Prepare interim valuations and payment applications, and finalize accounts.
  • Participate in risk reviews, progress, and commercial meetings on-site with clients.
  • Contribute to tenders and pricing strategies.
  • Oversee credit control, cash recovery, and forecasting.
  • Support operational teams in daily commercial and contractual tasks.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with NEC4 is preferable.
  • Experience in the Utilities industry is ideal.
  • Strong knowledge of contracts, especially NEC.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
