Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on the Yorkshire Green Project in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on commercial management, valuations, cost reporting and subcontract administration within energy and civil construction contexts.

The successful candidate will have NEC contracts experience, be registered with RICS or ICES and be aiming for chartership, with a track record on major projects and strong governance adherence.

• Registered with RICS or ICES and working towards chartership.
• Experience on civil engineering and/or major construction projects.

• Oversee cost reports to client with contractually compliant support.

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Quantity Surveyor:

• Ensure the site team adheres to group procedures and governance
• Management of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required
• Preparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract
• Oversee Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation
• Management of subcontract and material procurement schedules
• Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts
• Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
• Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements
• Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required
