We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor (or a strong Quantity Surveyor ready to step up) to join us here at Octavius.

We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.

You'll be working on…

Our £130 million A46 Walsgrave scheme – a major highways infrastructure project involving the construction of a new overbridge, roundabout realignment, and 2km of A46 re-alignment.

Based out of our Binley office, you'll play a key role in the procurement and delivery phases of this high-profile project, which runs through to July 2028.

Your first year will be pivotal.You'll initially take ownership of the procurement phase, ensuring that subcontractor packages are competitively sourced, contracts are robustly negotiated, and commercial risks are well managed, you'll then have a leading role in the delivery of the works. This is your chance to shape the commercial success of the project from cradle to grave.

About you…

You're commercially astute, proactive, and confident managing the financial and contractual performance of large-scale infrastructure projects. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and your team.

You'll bring…
  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role (SQS or QS level)
  • A background in civils or highways – ideally for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 subcontractor
  • Strong procurement expertise – from enquiries and analysis to negotiation and contract award, withthe ability to lead procurement activities during the early phase of a major infrastructure project
  • NEC contract experience (all options)
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional membership (RICS or CICES) – desirable
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to quality, integrity, and continuous improvement
