NG Bailey is hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a commercial build project in Reading. The role focuses on effective cost control, risk management and maximising commercial entitlements within NEC-based frameworks.

You will lead sub-contractor accounts, prepare payment applications, and work with operations to ensure timely reports and accurate commercial data. A strong M&E background and NEC experience are preferred, with security clearance achievable for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor with M&E background.
• Experience of change and subcontract management.
• Comfort with NEC3/4 contracts (desirable).
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance.

Job description

NG Bailey are currently searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team to work on a commercial build project in Reading.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that our safety first and foremost message is visible and alive through all activities on the project.
• Ensure the use of, and compliance to, legal and company policies and processes in line with contractual obligations.
• Understand project contract terms, manage risks and opportunities, ensuring they are commercially mitigated or enhanced. Identify any changes in line with NG Bailey’s contractual obligations.
• Maintain all records in order to maximise contractual entitlements.
• Communicate with the operational teams on risk and contract terms and conditions and have a continual understanding of project status.
• Prepare, submit applications, and secure recovery of payment, with substantiation of compensation or variations.
• With support, manage sub-contract accounts through to final account settlement.
• Monitor and control progress with the operational team, providing accurate internal reporting.
• Ensure availability of all project reports, applications, certificates, payments, timeliness and quality of delivery, and tender allowances.
• With support, negotiate to settle the project account with the client.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor with an M&E background.
• Experience of change and subcontract management
• A good understanding of NEC3/4 contracts (desirable)
• Will need to be able to gain Security Clearance.
