Job description

We are looking to strengthen our Commercial team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor based at Oswestry, with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and will be responsible for the Commercial Management of Project(s).

Key responsibilities will include:
  1. Quantity surveying duties related to managing projects and work packages
  2. Liaising with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyze, and control costs
  3. Collaborating with the client to ensure business requirements are met
  4. Managing the main contract, including identifying and raising contractual notices and correspondence as necessary
  5. Preparing and issuing subcontract documentation
  6. Assisting in the management and performance of subcontractors
  7. Managing the preparation and agreement of applications for payment
  8. Preparing project cost & value reports, budgets, and forecasts
  9. Assisting in the management and development of junior commercial staff
  10. Ensuring continuous professional development by participating in external networking, conferences, associations, and groups
  11. Maintaining a positive, solution-oriented approach and providing honest feedback
  12. Undertaking additional duties, training, or hours as reasonably required
  13. Presenting a professional and positive image in all contacts and maintaining constructive relationships
  14. Taking steps to ensure confidentiality
Essential requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Working towards or holding chartered membership of a recognised institution
  • Experience in utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors
  • NEC3 experience
Desirable:
  • Experience in managing and developing an individual or small team
