Qualifications

  • MCIOB or MRICS qualification, ideally Incorporated member.
  • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent commercial experience.
  • Experience with large schemes or multiple smaller schemes.

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure
Purpose of the role:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with your line manager to manage the commercial administration, reporting, and performance on a large project or several smaller schemes.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Ensure a safe working environment.
  2. Produce subcontract documentation, including negotiation of terms, prices, and programme.
  3. Manage subcontract work packages, including interim assessments and change management.
  4. Produce and issue all commercial notices as required by the contract.
  5. Oversee and manage change in accordance with the contract, including production and submission of Compensation Event Quotations.
  6. Produce, submit, and agree monthly applications with the client.
  7. Liaise with operational and engineering staff to maintain site records.
  8. Produce detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR).
  9. Maintain a detailed ‘Cost Plan’ tracking expenditure and liabilities.
  10. Interpret expenditure reports produced by internal cost systems.
  11. Manage weekly progress and risk reduction meetings.
  12. Apply principles of maximizing value and profit.
  13. Assist estimating and bid teams with contractual expertise.
Person Specification

To effectively undertake this role, you will need:

Competency Requirements
  • Good appreciation of standard forms of contract.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, and Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Solid knowledge of construction processes.
  • Excellent time and outcome management skills.
Technical / Professional Qualifications
  • Professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS, ideally Incorporated member, working towards full membership (Desirable).
  • Relevant degree and/or experience in a relevant Commercial environment.
  • Experience working on large schemes or multiple smaller schemes.
  • CSCS card.
