Qualifications

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
  • Experience in main contracting and large-scale 2-stage bids.
  • A collaborative, trusted, and focused approach – aligned with Kier's values.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

At Kier Construction, we're proud to be shaping the communities of tomorrow. We're now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team, taking the commercial lead on a project in Darlington. You will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the Pollam Hall School project – a high-profile scheme that will leave a lasting legacy.

Your role:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll oversee the project's commercial aspects, managing costs and risks while ensuring value for money and contractual compliance. Your responsibilities span from early-stage feasibility to final account, collaborating closely with internal teams, clients, and supply chain partners.

You will also:

  • Lead procurement and manage subcontractor packages
  • Prepare and assess payment applications
  • Monitor project expenditure and produce CVRs
  • Manage change control and mitigate commercial risks
  • Mentor junior team members and share your expertise
