Senior Quantity Surveyor

Newport

£54,022 Per annum

37 Hours per week, no weekends

Newport Norse, working in partnership with Newport City Council, is a highly successful company based in the city of Newport (South Wales), offering a full range of property and facilities management services to the public and private sectors.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the delivery of a complete range of Quantity Surveying professional services to a wide variety of clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for resource planning and management to provide all required services.
  • Provide quantity surveying services as a project leader or part of a team from feasibility stages through to final account.
  • Ensure that client requirements are identified and agreed with the clients.
  • Provide and maintain high standards of design, construction and contract management, and support the senior colleagues in maintain standards and ensuring compliance.
  • Ensure projects are completed to programme and within budget and fee provision.
  • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
  • Fee earning at 90%, and contribute to the achievement of business plan objectives and targets.
  • This role requires frequent travel to other offices and sites as required.
  • Carry out duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
  • Promote continuous improvement and deliver demonstrable high quality products and services which embrace quality standards.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to the Norse Way CSR strategy.

Candidate Requirement:

  • Professional Chartered professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related discipline
  • Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain
  • Extensive experience in a similar or related role
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
  • Familiar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos
