A leading company in the real estate sector is seeking a Managing Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Manchester. You will play a crucial role in delivering projects within budget and program while working with a talented team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in quantity surveying, excellent negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ QS experience working on a range of projects and values.
• Experience of both pre and post contract administration including preparing cost plans and estimates.
• Hold a full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial expertise and support for financial delivery of projects.
• Run monthly reports, costings, contract/sub-contract packages and variations.
• Collaborate with a team of Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors.

You will be working with a development team based in Manchester, your place of work would be split between the office and site depending on where you reside.

MCR Property Group are a national real estate investment and development company with offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh. The focus of MCR is residential and industrial new build and asset management of existing assets, currently with a pipeline of approximately 7000 residential plots and a commercial / industrial portfolio with a value in excess of £2bn.

MCR plans to expand significantly within the coming few years and is seeking motivated people with construction experience to grow with us.

As a Managing Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial expertise and support / be responsible for the financial delivery of the assigned projects to ensure that they are procured and delivered within budget, to programme.

You will be reporting to the Construction Director, running monthly reports, costings, contract / sub-contract packages and variations. There will be a team of Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors working alongside you on these projects. Primarily office based with site visits for meetings and valuations dependant on your level and location.

• Strong understanding of the sub contract procurement process
• Minimum 5 years’ QS experience working on a range of projects and values
• Have worked for a developer, main contractor or sub-contractor
• Experience of both pre and post contract administration including preparing cost plans, estimates, measurement for bills of quantities, tendering & procurement, value engineering, tender reporting, valuations and final accounts
• Wide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures
• Technical knowledge of building materials, techniques and systems
• Hold a full clean driving licence
